POTENTIOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF CATIONIC SURFACTANTS IN LIQUID DISINFECTANTS

2015
Cationic surfactants have significant importance and are extremely effective for some specific uses because of their peculiar properties. They are used as softening agents, bactericides, corrosion inhibitors, flotation collectors, sterilizers and disinfectants. Due to the wide area of application, considerable interest for the application of cationic surfactants-sensitive electrodes has been seen in recent years. Cationic surfactants can be determined in environmental samples using ion- sensitive field effect transistor (ISFET) devices [1], flow injection analysis [2], spectrofluorimetry and spectrophotometry [3], etc. Recently, there was presented a series of potentiometric surfactant sensors using a combination of PVC and other types of plasticizers [4, 5].
