Introduction of Wild Rhododendron from High Mountain to Shenzhen

After studying the differences of the climate and the vegetation between the provenance and the introducing area, 12 species of wild alpine Rhododendron were introduced from Liupanshui, Guizhou Province to Shenzhen, Guangdong Province by the method of progressive introduction. Results showed that Rhododendron delavayi, R. delavayi var. peramoenum and R. irroratum could grow well and bloom normally in Wutong Mountain, and the subgenera Hymenanthes grew better than the subgenera Rhododendron.
