Production of glycoproteins modified with multiple antennary structures.

2004
A host cell unicellular or multicellular fungus that is capable of producing glycoproteins comprising a core structure of N-glycan triantennary, in which the host cells are genetically engineered to produce glycoproteins that have an N-glycan GlcNAc2Man3GlcNAc2 and in which the cells host further include a nucleic acid encoding the catalytic domain of N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase IV the exogenous GnT IVB (Δ104-53) fused to human nucleotides 1-108 of the S. cerevisiae MNN2 gene acting as peptide cellular targeting signal not normally associated with the catalytic domain, which directs said catalytic domain to the ER or Golgi apparatus of the host cell.
