Analysis of grain production changes and food security problem in Inner Mongolia.

2009
According to the statistical data and related investigation of grain production from 1951 to 2007 in Inner Mongolia, this article analyzes grain yield, planting structure changes, food security problem and its influencing factors in Inner Mongolia by using the combination of dynamic analysis and static analysis, quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. The results shows that the total grain yield tends to an obvious wavy change, but generally it tends to an increasing trend, the per unit area grain yield also increases, and the trend of the per unit area grain yield is consistent with the total grain yield, however, the change of planting area isn’t big.Generally, food security is in the absolute safety state,it also has differences in space. This article uses 95% grain self-sufficient rate as safety standard, according to the natural classification and thinks that the food security of Inner Mongolia is divided into 5 grades: the very unsafe area, the relatively unsafe area, the relatively safe area, the safe area and the very safe area.
