A Node Management Strategy for Data Grid Environments

This paper proposes a data grid architecture based on hybrid overlay network, and the nodes in the system are organized according to the autonomous region and the network proximity. In the meantime, the nodes are organized into a hierarchical isomorphism architecture and the granularity of nodes can be tuned flexibly according to system needs. However, to the other nodes, a coarse-grained node is just only one logical node, and the topology in the inner node is transparent to outside world. This will increase scalability and flexibility of system. The nodes in the system are formed a multi-level distributed cooperative caching that spread over more than one autonomous regions, which decrease the tension of backbone bandwidth.
