Electric Power Balancing Optimization Considering Thermal Units in Peak-regulating Ancillary Service Market

To tackle the peak regulation issue caused by large-scale renewable energy integration, a multi-regional power balancing model is established in this paper considering thermal units involving in peak-regulating ancillary service market. In addition, considering the slow and ineffective solution of current sequential operation simulation in power system, the sequential decomposition technique with overlapping period and automatic rollback mechanism for insolvable case are adopted to considerately accelerate the annual sequential operation simulation. The test on the Northeast China Power Grid verifies the effectiveness of the proposed model and solving method.
