Sensorless Control of PMSM using FOC Strategy Based on PI-ILC Law and Sliding Mode Observer

2020
It is a well-known fact that, if a control system must perform repetitive tasks, it is advisable to use an Iterative Learning Control (ILC). Considering that there are many cases where the tasks which must be performed by the control structure of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) are repetitive, and the load torque has an oscillating character, this article presents the control structures, the equations and the mathematical modeling for a PI-ILC control system, in which the learning factor α is adaptive, in order to achieve superior performance. A Sliding Mode Observer (SMO) is used in the control system implemented in Matlab/Simulink, which improves the performance in terms of the reliability of the control system. It also presents the directions for the follow-up on the study regarding the control systems and the observers for the PMSM and the real-time implementation.
