Modelling the Effects of Air Pollutants on Forested Ecosystems1 ,4

1983
The Ecosystems Research Center is developing the CASSANDRA model to simulate the effects of various air pollutants on forested ecosystems. The approach is to build a nested model, using high resolution mechanistic submodels to create probability distributions of individual tree growth reductions in response to the air pollutants. These distributions then enter the large scale simulation model to show effects on regional ecosystem dynamics.
