The present invention provides a method for producing a beer taste beverage wherein a step for filtering wort can be carried out using such a large-scaled wort filtration device as having been conventionally used in breweries, even in a case of using a cereal starting material that contains wheat at a high ratio, and a beer taste beverage which is produced by the aforesaid production method. In the present invention, more specifically, wheat flour, the oversize fraction being 50 mass% or greater when said wheat flower is filtered using a sieve with a mesh size of 0.125 mm, is used as the cereal starting material. The beer taste beverage according to the present invention has a hordatine A content of not greater than 4 ppm.
