The optimization of preparation, reaction conditions and synthesis gas production by redox cycle using lattice oxygen

2007
Abstract The aim of this work was to optimize the catalyst preparation and reaction conditions, and produce syngas by redox cycle over LaFeO 3 oxide using lattice oxygen instead of gaseous oxygen. Catalyst preparation methods, pretreatment processes and reaction conditions were investigated and characterizations were conducted by XRD and BET. The research results showed that LaFeO 3 oxide, prepared by SGW method and calcinated at 1173 K for 5 h, exhibited the best catalytic performance for the CH 4 partial oxidation without gaseous oxygen. It was proved possibly that the lattice oxygen instead of molecular reacted with methane to produce synthesis gas by sequential redox cycle.
