Percutaneous absorption of hazardous substances

1989
Chemicals that can be absorbed through teh skin are in many MAK lists given special notation. The aim of this study is a review of the importance of percutaneous absorption of xenobiotica during occupational handling. The actual knowledge of this problem is given by an interpretation of the present literature. It is necessary to develop suitable methods to estimate the amounts of a percutaneous absorption to improve the protection of workers, because the penetration of solvents through undamaged skin is likely to be significant.
