Interleukin-1β and matrix metalloproteinases-9 levels in crevice fluid around microscrew anchorage

Objective: To investigate interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and matrix metalloproteinases-9(MMP-9) levels in crevice fluid around microscrew anchorage.Methods: Crevice fluid around microscrew anchorage was collected from 39 microscrews of oral orthotic patients 1,4 and 12 weeks respectively after implantation,IL-1β and MMP-9 were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay.Results: The microscrews were divided into unstable group(n=12) and stable group(n=27).In unstable group IL-1β and MMP-9 expression levels increased from 1 to 12 weeks after implantation(P0.05) and were higher than in stable group 4 and 12 week after implantation(P0.05).Conclusion: IL-1β and MMP-9 level may related to the stability of microscrew anchorage.
