Microcirculation and hyperkeratosis. Pathogenetic hypothesis and treatment

1985
: The orthokeratotic thickening of the epidermis would appear to follow the deceleration or permanent interruptions of the cutaneous microcirculation. This explains the development of calluses, corns and warts in areas where the skin is compressed between bone and a hard external support. Peripheral vasometric anomalies give rise to the same thing. Pentoxifylline, restoring the capillary microcirculation, has a clearly curative effect.
