Extraction and purification of 10-deacetyl baccatin III from Taxus mairei

Objective:To isolate and purify 10-deacetyl baccatinⅢ(10-DABⅢ)from leaves and branches of Taxus mairei.Methods:10-DABⅢwas extracted and purified by liquid-liquid and back ex- traction,column chromatography and recrystallization,and elucidated by UV and HPLC.Results:The total yield of 10-DABⅢ,a precursor of anti-cancer drug taxol and docetaxel was 7.9% and the purity of 10-DASⅢwas 91%.Conclusion:The novel isolation process for 10-DABⅢwas warranted for the pilot manufacture.
