The invention relates to a foamed ceramic heat insulation board and a preparation method thereof. The foamed ceramic heat insulation board is prepared from, by weight, 30%-60% of abandoned drilling mud materials, 10%-30% of silica raw materials, 1%-10% of clay, 10%-30% of high temperature flux and 0.05%-10% of foaming agents, wherein the sum of the mass fractions of the abandoned drilling mud materials, the silica raw materials, the clay and the high temperature flux is 100%, and the foaming agents account for 0.05%-10% of the sum of the mass of the abandoned drilling mud materials, the silica raw materials,, the clay and the high temperature flux. The foamed ceramic heat insulation board and the preparation method thereof have the advantages that lightweight and high strength are achieved, the heat insulation performance is excellent, and the manufacturing cost is low; important significance to improvement of the quality of existing building heat insulation materials and the fireproof performance of the building heat insulation materials and building energy and cost reduction is achieved.
