On the Elastic Properties of Heterogeneous Materials Containing Cubic Inclusions: Fourier Series Versus Finite Element Method

2017
Both analytical and numerical methods are developed to deal with the effective elastic properties of composite materials containing cubic inclusions. In the framework of the analytical method, the elastic Hill tensor required for the calculation of the effective elastic tensors is obtained explicitly in terms of Fourier series. Numerical method is realized on the representative elementary volume of the medium using FEM. A perfect fit between the two developed method is observed.
