The invention relates to a method for producing a structural component (1, 4) for a motor vehicle, especially a motor vehicle body component, comprising a base body (2) made of a metal material which at least partially with at least one reinforcing member (3, 5) made of a fiber reinforced plastic is provided, comprising at least the steps of: - providing the basic body (2); - providing said reinforcing member (3, 5); - joining of the base body (2) and reinforcing member (3, 5); and - Simultaneous heating of the base body (2) and reinforcing member (3, 5) to a temperature and for a time which are sufficiently high to cure both the metal material of the base body (2) and the fiber reinforced plastic of the reinforcing member (3, 5) ,
