Vulvar cancer in pregnancy

these conditions. The disease occurs most commonly during the sixth decade of life although 15% of vulvar cancers develop in women less than 40 years of age (Henson and Tarone, 1977). We believe this case report presents the youngest patient (18 years old) with vulvar cancer in pregnancy ever reported. An extensive review of the literature and a computer search revealed only 16 previous reported cases of squamous carcinoma of the vulva in pregnancy from 1964 to date. The treatment of vulvar cancer coexisting in pregnancy must be highly individualised with attention to factors such as age, stage, lesion size, site of the tumour and histopathological parameters such as
