Erkrankungen des Ohres Teil 1. Aurikularanhang

2006
Auricular addendum is a seldom malformation of the outer ear with an estimated prevalence of 1.7 to 1.000. In the majority of cases it occurs as an isolated malformation although occurrences in combination with other malformations of the first and second pharyngeal arches are possible. One obtains good results with excision, if all cartilage portions are removed, since they can reach far into the subcutis. If merely a superficial excision is carried out, incomplete removal of cartilage can affect wound healing and can lead to chondrodermatitis.
