The assumptions of the engine design for mounting in the hub of the vehicle

The article presents the concept of engine design for installation in the hub of an electric car wheel. The authors presented the advantages and disadvantages of direct drive and possible applications of this type. The publication presents the results of preliminary design calculations for the electromagnetic circuit, the stator thermal model and the mechanical design of the engine.
