The study was conducted based on the Encuesta Continua de Hogares of 2006, estimating the probability that an individual was smoking using multivariate analysis with a logit model according to their characteristics and those of your household. The existence of smokers in the home was the element that increased the likelihood of smoking, while being male, being married / divorced, have between 20 and 59 years, to be economically active, have not completed high school and have very low income also increased. Acted in the opposite being a student, belonging to a religion, have asthma, hypertension or diabetes or have made a recent health check. The simulation showed that education was a protective factor more important than income, so if the population had completed secondary smoking is reduced by half.
