Hubungan Pencarian Informasi dalam Situs www.himahumasunpad.com dengan Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Informasi Mahasiswa terhadap Kegiatan Kemahasiswaan Humas

Penelitian ini berjudul "Hubungan Pencarian Informasi dalam Situswww.himahumasunpad.com dengan Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Informasi Mahasiswaterhadap Kegiatan Kemahasiswaan Humas". Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauhmana hubungan pencarian informasi dalam situs www.himahumasunpad.com dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi mahasiswa terhadap kegiatan kemahasiswaan Humas. Metode yangdigunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif korelasional. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner, studi kepustakaan dan wawancara. Fenomena yang diteliti adalah pencarian dan penghindaran informasi yang terjadi pada saat mahasiswa/i mengakses situswww.himahumasunpad.com. Mahasiswa mencari informasi yang dianggap perlu danmenghindari informasi yang tidak sesuai dengan "image of reality"nya yang tidakdapat memenuhi pemenuhan kebutuhan informasinya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara pencarian dan penghindaran informasi dengan pemenuhan kebutuhaninformasi mahasiswa.. Artinya, semakin tinggi perilaku pencarian informasi padasitus www.himahumasunpad.com maka semakin erat hubungannya denganpemenuhan kebutuhan informasi mahasiswa Humas Fikom Unpad terhadap kegiatankemahasiswaan Humas. The aim of this research is to determine how far the relationship of information searching on the site www.himahumasunpad.com with the fullfillment of students’ information need of Humas students activity. The method applied in this research is correlational quantitative method. Techniques of data collection are through questionnaires, the study literature and interviews. The phenomenon studied is the search and the avoidance of information that occurs when students access the site www.himahumasunpad.com. Students seek for the information they considered necessary and avoid information that does not fit the "image of reality" which cannot fullfilled their information need fullfillment. The result of this research is to show that there is a strong correlation between searching and avoiding information with the fullfillment of information needs of students. It means, the higher information-seeking behaviour on the site www.himahumasunpad.com themore closely related to the fullfillment of students’ information needs of students of PublicRelations Faculty of Communication Unpad for Public Relations student activities.
