Simultaneous syntheses of cytoplasmic and chloroplastic ribosomal RNA during the cell cycle ofDunaliella

Chloroplastic and cytoplasmic ribosomal RNA syntheses were analyzed in synchromous culteres. All 4 rRNA species are simultaneously accumulated during the light period of the cell cycle. Cytoplasmic rRNA synthesis is repressed only during the later part of the S phase.
