Corrections to the Centroid Evaluation of Spots for a Structured Light System

Three factors to be corrected during the measurement of the shape of a surface through a structured light method are analyzed. For each, a correction method is proposed. They are: an optimal election of the pinhole position based on the thick lenses theory; lens distortion and perspective. It is experimentally shown how these corrections can improve the evaluation of the transversal position for a point object.
