DISEÑO DE UN MODELO DE MANTENIMIENTO BASADO EN MONITOREO DEL MEDIO AMBIENTE EN SISTEMAS DE DEPURACIÓN DE HUMOS EN SIDOR / MAINTENANCE MODEL BASED ON MONITORING THE ENVIRONMENT ON PURIFYING FUME SYSTEMS AT SIDOR

Historicamente la empresa SIDOR ha tenido dos etapas fundamentales, una antes de la privatizacion y otra despues deesta. Esta afirmacion se soporta en que las reparaciones de los sistemas se hacian en base a la rotura y no al deterioro porvida util. Actualmente es una politica de la compania la determinacion y ejecucion de acciones sobre el control del medioambiente, las operaciones, sistemas, maquinarias, procesos y equipos. En este trabajo se propone un modelo de gestion demantenimiento orientado dentro de la politica de medio ambiente de la empresa, los sistemas deben operar dentro deestandares nacionales e internacionales a fin de no impactar en el ambiente. Las normas tanto nacionales como internacionalesestablecen un marco donde las empresas deben cumplir estos requerimientos a fin de poder permanecer en los mercados.Se ha seleccionado el area de manejo de humos por ser una potencial fuente de contaminacion del aire, afectando la calidady condiciones de higiene del trabajo en planta, el modelo hace una contribucion para reducir el impacto de los contaminantesy tambien permite un mejor uso de los recursos. El modelo puede ser aplicado a sistemas de este tipo, y asi crear un estandarde mantenimiento para estos, garantizando ademas las exigencias actuales que posee la empresa. ABSTRACT The Sidor Company can, historically, be divided into two very well defined periods, the first one before privatization andthe second after. Currently, as a part of Company policy, it is necessary to establish and execute actions in order to controlthe environmental impact of operations, systems, machineries, processes and equipment. The traditional approach in Sidorwas to repair systems, machineries, etc, when those broke down without giving proper attention to the life cycle deteriorationof the systems as a result of use and its effects on the environment due to use and maintenance. This work presents amaintenance model oriented within the environmental policy of the company and the life cycle of the equipment. It isdetermined hat the systems must operate within local and international standards in order to reduce and control fumecontaminants that are given off into the atmosphere. Venezuelan norms as well as international ones are useful in establishinga framework where the companies must fulfill these requirements in order to comply with concerns as to environmentissues. Companies that do not fulfill this approach cannot compete in the global market. The inappropriate handling can beone of the main causes of pollution affecting the quality and conditions of surrounding air in plants and in the neighborhood,and thus the model contributes to reducing the impact of the contaminants and also improving the use of resources andcan be applied to systems of this type with the purpose of creating maintenance standards capable of guaranteeing currentdemands on controlling environmental impacts.
