Polymeric Systems for Ophthalmic Drug Delivery

The first part of this chapter is devoted to the description of some ocular diseases, describing briefly disorders that may be treated by local applications and those which necessitate intraocular interventions. The different polymeric systems (hydrogels, microparticulate systems, and solid dosage forms) allowing ocular drug delivery after local or intraocular administration are discussed in the second and third part of this chapter, respectively.
