A Real Time Flood Operations Model for Somerset Dam, Wivenhoe Dam and North Pine Dam

A real time flood operations model is described that is capable of utilising real time data to assist in the operation of Somerset Dam, Wivenhoe Dam and North Pine Dam during extreme flood events. The modelling system consists of several modules that perform various hydrologic and hydraulic functions that aid in the optimisation of storage operation. The modelling system is completely integrated, from data capture through to result presentation. The system is accessed through a GUI, (Graphical User Interface), that allows the operator greater flexibility in managing the system. The modeling system has been developed under a Unix operating environment using the OSF/Motif GUI under the X Window system.
