CORROSION INHIBITOR DEVELOPMENT OF EUCALYPTUS OIL FOR HYDROCHLORIC ACID PICKLING

Eucalyptus oil was extracted from camphor leaves by distilation and used to be the main component of the corrosion inhibitor for acid pickling of iron.Linear polarization method was adopted to evaluate the efficiency of the corrosion inhibitor.The corrosion inhibitive mechanism was proposed.The optimum inhibitor for carbon steel in 5% hydrochloric acid solution was obtained and it is a mixed-type inhibitor.
