Effects of Seed Soaking with Different Kinds of Ni~(2+) Salt on the Seed Vigor of Crop

[Objective] The aim of the research was to provide basic theoretical basis for further development and utilization of Ni fertilizer.[Method] With spring wheat and cherry tomato as the tested materials,50~100 g homogeneous and plump seeds were selected and placed in Ni2+ salt solution with different concn.and species for soaking for 6~12 h.The effects of seed soaking with 3 kinds of Ni2+ salt(NiCl2,Ni(NO3)2,NiSO4) on the seed vigor of crop were studied.[Result] Seed soaking with Ni2+ salt at suitable concn.could promote the germination of 2 kinds of crops,promote the growth of root system and buds and increase dry matter accumulation in the seedlings.The suitable concn.for seed soaking of spring wheat was 0~2 μmol/L,which was different with the species of Ni2+ salt.The suitable concn.for seed soaking of cherry tomato was 0.5 μmol/L and its action effect was different with the kinds of Ni2+ salt and crop variety.[Conclusion] Under the same concn.conditions,the biological effect difference produced from different Ni2+ salt was possibly related with the additive effect of anion and cation in Ni2+ salt.
