Objective: analyze the muscle activity of the shoulder complex during the volleyball serve and the possible correlation with the mechanism of injure of impingement syndrome. Methods: observational, analytic, transversal study. 15 athletes were divided in three groups and evaluated with surface electromyography. It was study the mean of muscle activation during the different fases of the serve.
