The toxicity and mutagenicity of tetramethylammonium borohydride were determined in mammals and microorganisms, respectively. The acute oral LD/sub 50/ was determined in mice and rats, skin irritation and sensitization in guinea pigs, percutaneous toxicity in rabbits, eye irritation in rabbits, pulmonary toxicity in rats, and mutagenicity in Salmonella (Ames test) and cultured human leukocytes.
