Analysis of a maintenance strategy to be implemented in electric transmission companies

Maintenance management is aimed at optimizing costs, increasing availability and operational reliability, optimizingperformance and increasing the useful life of assets. For this study, a survey was designed to find out whether the implementation of a Reliability Centered Maintenance system as a strategy for maintenance management was perfectible and, at the same time,to check if it was possible to carry out this implementation at the time of this research. The survey was validated in an electric transmission company. It was a descriptive study which showed reliability. For the first variable, a value of 92% was obtained, which is considered as excellent, while for the second variable, the result was 72%, which is considered as acceptable. With the results of this study, it was possible to establish the relevance of this strategy for this field of research but the company selected was not prepared to assume it without first making some changes.
