Detection of Trypanosoma congolense was carried out by microscopy and PCR in cattle from selected abattoirs in Kaduna metropolis, Nigeria. Two hundred blood samples were randomly collected from cattle in Kawo and Tudun-wada abattoirs, 100 samples each. A total of 38 blood samples representing 19.0% from the study were positive from the selected abattoirs using microscopy.
