This research aims at describing and analyzing the processes for the development of Family Farming in the municipality of Santiago de Cuba. Reference to positive and negative results in this municipality is done. Although the overall outcome is positive; negative trends that limit family farming potentials are also revealed. A set of insights and analysis is presented; which explains the need to continue going deeper in the economic, social and cultural study as a basis to enable the full exploitation of all potential of this production mode.
