Mathematical Modelling of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Electrodes

Important mass transfer processes occurring in the electrodes of solid oxide fuel cell stacks have been described and modelled. The behaviour of a co-flow planar stack design featuring these mass transfer processes has been simulated and analyzed. The simulated results have highlighted the importance of diffusion and electrochemical reaction kinetics of the fuel and oxidant in regions underneath the current collection webs.
