The qualitative research “the Experience of Reading in Different Capacities,” sought to put into question the concepts of disability and ability in people with visual impairment from your reading experience, as well as to give account of their particular skills: different capabilities. The research was interventions (field work, interviews, observation, logs and photographic record) in the Foundation Synapse Colombia, located in the Locality of Suba, in Bogota. The research not only allowed to glimpse a new way of reading from the blindness, but also proposes social discourses and educational in which it is recognized to persons with blindness for their potential and contribution to the social construction, far from defining them as people who are unable or disabled. At the same time, the research project enabled a transformation determinant in the practice and knowledge of pedagogical recognition of the need for school overflow classroom and respond to the social needs imparting new models not only of reading and the reading of the reality, but to define ourselves as subjects.
