MEMORIAS URBANAS. COTIDIANEIDAD, IDENTIDAD Y TRASCENDENCIA EN LA CIUDAD URBAN MEMORIES, EVERYDAY LIFE, IDENTITY AND TRANSCENDENCE OF THE CITY

Communities need certain methodological, scientific and conceptual rigour when they are subject of inquiry, in order to gather the events and actions that have caused their morphological, historical, social and spatial configuration. It is necessary to reveal and represent in a plan, sketch or map its layout, its physical orientation, urbanization and buildings. But equally important is to understand the process of semiotic construction of the urban image and those that refer to the rescue of relevant historical memories. This work outlines some ideas about the urban image as a cultural process, which derives from the metabolism and evolution of the city.
