The Concept, Design, and Operation of a Radiological Health Science Education Unit

1971
Abstract Education in radiological science relates to the need for significant instruction in areas of radiology other than film diagnosis, clinical nuclear medicine, or radiation therapy. This subject material can be effectively presented in a multipurpose unit in which several different categories of students may be instructed in various branches of radiology. The design and operation of one such type of unit is presented, together with the program outline for specific groups such as residents, technologists, and medical students. Education in this area may be the most important mechanism for promoting the efficient use of ionizing radiations in medicine.
