Places 29 Advisory Council Meeting Minutes March 24, 2014

-Break Out Session: The council reconvened into its own session where it discussed aspects of the Places29 Master Plan and in general the council’s role in assisting in the implementation of the Plan. The discussion, with the assistance of county officials and staff, covered various topics including (1) VDOT’s responsibility for the funding and maintenance of road and pedestrian improvements; (2) the council receiving additional information about new and pending site-plan applications; (3) current storm-water issues including changes in state laws and regulations and the prospect of these matters being delegated to local governments to regulate and fund through new fees; and (4) the upcoming meeting of the newly formed Route 29 Advisory Panel on March 27, 2014, and its charge to recommend solutions for improving the Route 29 transportation corridor.
