Analysis of Tooth Profile Modification and Meshing Characteristics of Double Arc Harmonic Drive
2021
Aiming at investigating the problem that the main section of the harmonic gear transmission tooth profile is completely meshed while others have interference, the improved kinematics method is adopted to design the non-common tangent double-arc tooth profile. Under the premise that the tooth profile meshing characteristics remain unchanged, a method of simultaneous modification of the circular spline and flexspline tooth profile is proposed by using MATLAB simulation and finite element analysis. ABAQUS is used to prove the validity of simultaneous modification of circular spline and flexspline tooth profiles. The results show that the amount of tooth profile modification obtained by the theoretical method is greater than the actual. Under the condition that the main section of the circular spline and flexspline tooth profile is fully meshed, the amount of the modification of the rear-end section of the flexspline is less while the that of the front-end section of the circular spline is greater as the result of the main section closing to the end of the ring gear. In addition, the sensitivity of the end section modification amount is less than that of the front end and the sensitivity of the increase of the stress in the bottom of the cup is greater than the end of the ring gear.
