The Economics of Inclusion

2010
The focus of 'The Road Home', the Australian Federal Government's White paper on homelessness, its January 2010 report and other similar official reports on the economy of the sector is criticised. It is suggested that the focus of the social inclusion agenda should not be on the economic costs and benefits in approaching homelessness, but should be on performing holistic 'human work' within an economic framework by considering homelessness as a part of the affected individuals' quality of life and experiences.
