Construction and energy cost produced by Indian model biodigestors with cattle manures in semi-intensive systems

The present work aimed to determine the costs involved in building and maintaining the Indian model biodigesters in the state of Parana, Brazil, as well as the costs of the energy generation coming from biogas produced with different amounts of cattle manure in systems semiintensive of production. To make this development works, systems with 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 50, 70, 90 and 120 bovine animals were considered. The results show that the annualized costs of the biodigesters ranged from 495.17 € up to 9764.80 € , and the total costs for energy production ranged from 0.12 € kWh -1 till 0.09 € kWh -1 with the increase in the number of cattle.
