The optimal liquid fermentation conditions of cellulase production by neurospora crassa

2007
The production of the cellulase complex by the fungus Neurospora crassa on milled and sieved rice straw was studied. The effects of straw concentration, temperature, and initial pH on the production of endoglucanase and filter paper activities, as well as mycelia protein, were observed. With an initial pH value of 4.8, a straw concentration of 5% and a temperature of 30 ℃ for 6 days yielded the higher activities for the two enzymes. The optimal condition of Neurospora crassa growing in submerged fermentation were as follows: with an initial pH value of 5.5, a straw concentration of 2% and the changed temperature of a starting temperature of 25 ℃ and a final temperature of 30 ℃.
