Optimization of Multiloop Paratactic Buried Power Cable Layout

2010
Thermal resistance characteristics strongly influence the current-carrying capacity of power cable in multiloop paratactic system flaying, while the thermal resistance of cable is closely related with its laying method or structure significantly. This paper deals with the relationship between multi-circuit power cable layout and cable transmission capacity based on the example of XLPE power cables buried in soil, and then the optimal system flaying was found out, which provides a theoretical basis for the actual cable laying construction. So far as buried cables is concerned, the better system flaying can be summarized as following: it would be best to take use of single-layer arrangement, two layers should not be exceeded, and the clear distance between them would be best if it is not less than twice larger than outer diameter of single circuit. In order to ensure the electromagnetic symmetry, the phase sequence between adjacent loops should be the opposite; When using the two-tier arrangement, it is appropriate to make the second layer to be the mirror image of the first one.
