L'impiego di pneumatici come combustibile in un forno da cemento

After a short outlook on the problem of the disposal of used car tyres, the results of experimental tests (conducted in Cementeria di Barletta SpA, Gruppo Unicem) are reported. The percentage of thermal substitution and the stability of the kiln operation were investigated. The environmental impact of the operation was pointed out through a campaign of stack sampling. Finally the results of experimental tests planned in order to evaluate the combustion time of chipped tyres and their kinetic behaviour in the kiln are shown.
