Permanent shaping agent for hair and novel hair keratin-reducing glycerol ester of cysteine

PURPOSE: To provide a permanent hair-shaping agent comprising as an essential keratin-reducing substance a glycerol ester of cysteine which is capable of shaping hair mildly and uniformly without causing an allergic reaction. CONSTITUTION: A first component comprising urea, an octyl phenol ethoxylated with ethylene oxide, ammonia, a perfume oil, ammonium hydrogen carbonate, water and so on is mixed with a second component comprising as a keratin- reducing substance a glycerol ester of cysteine [e.g. 2-amino-3-mercaptopropionic acid-(2',3'-dihydroxypropyl)ester and the like] to obtain the aimed permanent hair-shaping agent which has a pH range of 4.5-9.0 and is capable of shaping hair mildly and uniformly, and that without causing allergic reactions.
