A new modification of silicon dioxide obtained in shock-wave conditions
1993
A new modification of SiO2 with a primitive cubic lattice (a = 7.78 A) was obtained in shock-wave compaction of amorphous silicon dioxide in cylindrical ampuls for preservation of a sliding detonation wave with a pressure of 27 GPa on the front. The roentgenometric data and IR spectra are reported.
