According to its primary function the municipal subsystem is responsible for public tasks therefore it is important that it must be done in an efficient, regular and transparent manner. This article describes the operation of the Public Finance Control System, which includes comprehensive and topic audits, also financial and regularity, legality audits, and a central management system operated by the Hungarian State Treasury, which is provided free of charge to local governments. This article presents the ASP Data Warehouse, which provides all municipalities with relevant and up-to-date data to support government decision-making also central and local public finance management. In addition, the Treasury Accounting Service provided by the Hungarian State Treasury, which significantly reduces the administrative burden on local governments is introduced, this service will provide significant support to the local governments in fulfilling their financial and accounting responsibilities.
