A vehicle includes an internal combustion engine, a first motor-generator which is adapted to electrical energy by using the energy of the internal combustion engine to generate an electric storage unit that is adapted to store the electrical energy generated by the first motor-generator, a connecting member through which the electrical energy that was stored in the electric storage unit is supplied to the point outside the vehicle; and an ECU that is adapted to start the internal combustion engine when the SOC of the electric storage unit reaches a predetermined start threshold value. The ECU sets a start threshold value ON2 that is used when the vehicle is in a drivable state, and electric power through the connecting part of the body is supplied from outside the vehicle, to a value which is smaller than a start threshold value ON1, which is used when the vehicle is in a drivable state.
