A compact and broadband polarization splitter in SOI

We report design, fabrication and measurements of a compact and broadband planar polarization splitter in SOI technology. The device is smaller than 5µm with a measured polarization crosstalk up to 10dB in a wavelength bandwidth higher than 30nm.
